Unique L.A. 2013

Unique L.A. is where you go to find American Made. Started in 2008, by designer Sonja Rasula, she wanted to show the importance of supporting small businesses and sustaining the American economy as well.

“I want to bring modern Made-in-America design to the masses. My goals are to help designers and small businesses grow and become sustainable, to support the local economy, and to teach shoppers the value of conscious consumerism.” - Sonja Rasula

Being a 'small business', we feel it's important to support others. Unique L.A. is a perfect example of the companies and people we like to attach ourselves to.

This was our first year attending, and honestly, we didn't know exactly what to expect, we just knew it had to be good. The show took place at Barkar Hangar in Santa Monica, which is always a great place for events (I've been to numerous fashion shows there). Upon walking in, we were very excited. The entire place was full of booths with products you'd want to fill your home with. Clothing, home goods, stationary, art, and culinary items. This was the cream of the crop of designers and artists in Los Angeles.

We will be at the next Unique L.A., and plan on making others in San Francisco and New York.
